Operation Nightingale, and Breaking Ground Heritage, utilise archaeology to aid the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured or sick military veterans. In May 2022, they embarked on the second phase of an archaeological project to excavate part of 'Easy Company's' living quarters and camp in Aldbourne, Wiltshire prior to D-Day and Operation Market Garden in 1944.
